Who am I?

Hello! I am Shrinidhi U., a passionate Bharatnatyam dancer and teacher based in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a lifelong love for the classical art form, I am dedicated to preserving and sharing the beauty of Bharatnatyam with my students.
I began my dance journey under the guidance of esteemed gurus, Vidushi Ambale Rajeshwari and currently perusing the artform under Upadhye School of Dance, who instilled in me not only the technical skills but also the deep cultural understanding of Bharatnatyam. Over the years, I have honed my expertise in Abhinaya (facial expressions) and Nattuvangam (dance conducting), both of which I believe are essential for conveying the true essence of this ancient art form.
I hold a Vidwath in Bharatnatyam, a title that reflects my extensive training and commitment to the art. My classes are centered around a holistic approach to dance, where students not only learn the intricate footwork and postures but also immerse themselves in the storytelling, rhythm, and emotions that Bharatnatyam conveys.
Beyond teaching, I am deeply committed to fostering a sense of community among my students, encouraging them to express themselves through dance while embracing the rich cultural heritage of India. My mission is to make Bharatnatyam accessible, enjoyable, and transformative for students of all ages and backgrounds.
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced dancer, my goal is to guide you in your dance journey, helping you develop both technical proficiency and emotional depth in your performances. I look forward to sharing this beautiful art form with you and witnessing your growth as a dancer!
